Girls Aloud《life got cold》

Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Cole make up Girls Aloud, a UK girl group who were formed from the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals, in which a girl band was pitted against a boy band in the race for the UK Christmas number one single in 2002. Girls Aloud came out on top, with their debut single 'Sound Of The Underground' hitting number one.
Girls Aloud have cemented their position at the top of the heap of today's pop acts, receiving critical acclaim from every corner of the general music press - tabloids, broadsheets, and music publishings such as NME.
Their recent Greatest Hits compilation The Sound of Girls Aloud was their first album to hit number one in the UK, and has spawned two huge hits - a cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' 'I Think We're Alone Now', and 'Something Kinda Ooooh', the first top 3 hit for the girls since 2004, and a number 1 on the UK download charts.
Sound Of The Underground was the girls' first album, featuring the eponymous debut track, as well as 'No Good Advice' and 'Life Got Cold'.
What Will The Neighbours Say?, the girls' second album, features the biggest hits of the girls' career, with the singles 'The Show' and (in particularly) 'Love Machine' having reached anthemic status. The album also features 'Jump', 'Wake Me Up', and the girls' only other number 1 single to date, a cover of The Pretenders' classic 'I'll Stand By You'.
Their third album Chemistry was their most critically acclaimed to date, yet failed to make the UK top 10. The biggest single to come from the album was 'Biology' which hit #1 on the UK Download Chart and peaked at number 4 in the UK singles chart. The album also features the singles 'Long Hot Summer', 'See The Day', and 'Whole Lotta History'. A TV show called Girls Aloud: Off The Record was released showing the girls promoting 'Whole Lotta History', which eventually hit number 6. Chemistry's failure to ever go top 10 is largely down to 2 ballads having been released in succession from the album, rather than the girls' trademark upbeat pop, even though the fan favourite 'Models' was rumoured to be the single released to coincide with the girls' Chemistry Arena Tour. Eventually, there was no single release to accompany the tour.
The girls are undoubtedly one of the leading forces in UK pop music, with their production by Xenomania, who have also written hits for Sugababes and Rachel Stevens among others. Their fan base spans a huge demographic, from teenage girls to dancefloor regulars on the UK's various gay scenes. The girls have taken to the road 3 times since 2005, with their What Will The Neighbours Say? (2005), Chemistry (2006) and Greatest Hits (2007) tours, each tour selling out, and the latter two being arena tours.
The girls released a collaboration with Sugababes for Comic Relief 2007, a cover of Aerosmith and Run-D.M.C.'s 'Walk This Way', with the song hitting number 1.
Fourth album Tangled Up reached #4 in the UK charts, with the lead single being 'Sexy! No No No...', and, as always, Girls Aloud have received rave reviews. 'Call The Shots' is the current single from the album, with 'Can't Speak French' as the 3rd, and the girls have confirmed a UK arena tour of Tangled Up for May 2008.
Oh oh yeah ooh
We text as we eat
As we listen to the freaks
As we wait for the right of way
We text as we talk
We're running as we walk
Cos we're several little souls away
We smoke as we choke
As we sink another Coke
And we grin when it blows on mine
We skate as we date
As we slowly suffocate
We're running, we're running, we're running
Out of time
My life got cold
It happened many years ago
When summer slipped away
So chill now oh
We've got many years to go
So take it day by day
And on the go
I lost my soul
To some forgotten dream and
How was I supposed to know
It wasn't what it seemed
And even though the last to low
Has left me on the floor
I don't believe in Romeos or heroes anymore
We spend as we mend
Cos we're happy to pretend
Everything's gonna be OK
We shake as we break
Never giving 'til we take
And we hate when we have to pay
We flirt while we work
To forget about the hurt
And the trash that we left behind
We sink as we swim
The ice is wearing thin
We're running, we're running, we're running
Out of time
My life got cold
It happened many years ago
When summer slipped away
So chill now oh
We've got many years to go
So take it day by day
And on the go
I lost my soul
To some forgotten dream and
How was I supposed to know
It wasn't what it seemed
And even though the last to low
Has left me on the floor
I don't believe in Romeos or heroes anymore
My life got cold
It happened many years ago
When summer slipped away
So chill now oh
We've got many years to go
So take it day by day
And on the go
I lost my soul
To some forgotten dream and
How was I supposed to know
It wasn't what it seemed
And even though the last to low
Has left me on the floor
I don't believe in Romeos or heroes anymore
