2002年参加澳大利亚珀斯市超模选秀。2003年9月与纽约著名的模特经纪公司IMG签了约。Gemmaward有着柔软纯净仿如外星生物的娃娃脸，被“时尚教母”普拉达器重，16岁便成为她旗下主线PRADA和副线MIUMIU做专属模特走秀。随后拍摄了PRADA和VERSUS的春季系列平面广告，并登上了澳大利亚版、意大利版和英国版VOGUE杂志的封面以及W杂志的封面。这个女孩已经是火得一塌糊涂。她的发型也被列为超级时尚发型。
